Who We Are

The Iowa Democratic Veterans’ Caucus is the recognized voice for veterans and their families within the Iowa Democratic Party and IDVC acts as the voice of Democrats in the Veterans’ community by helping to craft the IDP legislative and policy agenda for issues affecting Veterans, their families and their communities

Our Values

We support a strong and smart national defense strategy.

We know our Active Duty, Reserves and National Guard members are necessary fot the security and safety of our state and the nation.

We have a sacred, moral responsibility to keep faith with all who serve, who have served, and their families.

We push for more educational benefits and job training, work to end cronic hmelessness and sucide, prmoite family-friendly policies and champion efforts to care for our military family members.

Oppose attacks on voting rights and support pro-democracy reform efforts to ensure all Americans can exercise their right to vote.

Our Vision

Veterans can return to civilian life in a country that honors the VA’s mission statement, “To fulfill President Lincoln’s promise to care for those who have served in our nation’s military and for their families, caregivers, and survivors”.
